(Two people, each on their own side, read aloud the messages they send each other.)
THÉO
“Hey babe, I booked us for tonight 8 p.m., wear the nice shirt.”
LÉNA
“Hello. I’m not ‘babe.’ But I’ll note that you own nice shirts.”
THÉO
“…Oh no. Sorry. Wrong number. This is very awkward.”
LÉNA
“A little. Mostly for babe, who’ll be waiting at 8 in a nice shirt.”
THÉO
“You’re right. I should warn them.”
LÉNA
“Or you go anyway. I’ve got a slot. And already all the details: 8 p.m., nice shirt.”
(A beat. The three dots, blinking.)
THÉO
“…There is no babe, actually. I was practising asking someone out. You’ve just made the practice pointless.”
LÉNA
“Then 8 p.m. I’ll bring the nice shirt. Mine.”

The Family Council
I have read it. The name he bears is too low for ours. My daughter shall love only whom I name. Father, one does not command the heart like a servant. It obeys in silence only when betrayed.

The Umbrella
Can I stay under yours till the corner? Mine turned inside out and died a hero. Of course. Careful, it leaks on the left. Historically, the side of people I don’t like.

The Parcel
Hi. It’s for me again. The courier’s been mixing up our doors for a month. I know. I’ve got a whole wall of your parcels. I’ve learned things about you.
