(A dog park. Two leashes, two owners, two dogs who refuse to be parted.)
ELLE
Yours ran to mine again. Every morning. It’s an obsession.
LUI
It’s not an obsession, it’s love. Look at them. They sit against each other and they sigh.
ELLE
They’re dogs. They sigh over a treat.
LUI
Mine hasn’t eaten since he met her. I was worried. The vet said: “It’s the heart.”
(The two dogs lie down, nose to nose, and don’t move.)
ELLE
…Right. We’re not going to pull them apart.
LUI
That would be cruel. So, out of respect for them, we’re a little obliged to come back tomorrow. Same time.
ELLE
For the dogs.
LUI
Solely for the dogs. Obviously.
