(A crossroads. Jo and Mya, asked by a passer-by, point in two opposite directions.)
JO
Straight ahead. You go straight, second lights, turn left.
MYA
No. Just no. Left is one-way, he’ll be going round in circles his whole life.
JO
It’s not one-way, it’s one-way EXCEPT residents.
MYA
He’s not a resident. Look at him. He’s got a wheelie suitcase and a hopeful look.
JO
Fine. Then he goes round by the square.
MYA
The square’s been dug up since March.
JO
…Since March? Nobody tells me anything.
MYA
Sir, simplest thing: get back on the metro. You’re almost there, actually. You shouldn’t have come up.
