(A deserted metro platform. The station name: “Aubier.” A worker sweeps, unhurried.)

MOI

Excuse me. “Aubier”? This station doesn’t exist. I’ve taken this line for ten years. There’s never been a stop here.

L’AGENT

There’s one for those who need it. The metro stops at Aubier when someone on board has missed something important. A station of second chances.

MOI

…And what did I miss?

L’AGENT

I don’t know. It’s written on the bench, over there. There’s always a sentence. Yours.

(She approaches the bench. An inscription, fresh, as if written for her.)

MOI

“You didn’t say goodbye.” …It’s true. This morning. I left angry. I didn’t say goodbye.

L’AGENT

The next train leaves in one minute. It takes you back to this morning. Once. After that, the station closes. So? Do you get on, or do you go home not having said goodbye?
